Bonito or tuna fish in tomato sauce is a Spanish recipe, from the north of Spain. Eventually, it became popular in the rest of Spain. Besides, this dish can be served with rice.
Cut the onion and the peppers into pieces and fry them in olive oil.
In the same pan, fry the big pieces of tuna or bonito as well. Just a little bit until they become white and then reserve them in a plate.
Add the natural tomato sauce into the pan and let it cook for about 30 minutes.
Once the sauce is cooked, use a blender to make it liquid.
Place the sauce into the pan again, and add the big pieces of fish that you reserved before.
“At the end of the process check if the sauce is sweet enough. If not, you should add a little bit of sugar or fried tomato”
Cook the bonito or tuna for 15 minutes more. In the end, you will have the traditional Spanish dish tuna with tomato! Enjoy it!
